The Cresson Catholic Community Religious Education Program -  2016-2017  year runs from September to April .  As with Catholic catechesis in general, the fundamental aim of our Religious Education Program is to put each child “not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ: only He can lead us to the love of the Father in the Spirit and make us share in the life of the Holy Trinity” (Catechesi Tradendae, 5). We strive to help each child know the Catholic Faith, to celebrate it in the sacraments, to grow in holiness, and to grow in prayer.

Our Religious Education program is made up of  2 components~ CCD Classes & the GIFT Program. Classes for Grades 1-11 are held on approx 3 Sunday mornings per month (Sept – April) - 9:00-10:15am -in the St. Aloysius Faith Education Center. (Pre -K and children with special needs are served by our Atrium Program - see Catechesis of the Good Shepherd below)   In addition, families will attend the  GIFT program once per month.  Gift ~ "Growing In Faith Together" is an inter-generational program - designed to teach & share the basics of the Catholic Faith while we build family & community. Everyone in our parish community will be invited to join us for monthly GIFT gatherings, however it is built into our Religious Ed. Program for all our students and families to attend once per month at a convenient time for them.  We will meet once a month from Sept through May, and gather for light refreshments, prayer and song, activities and learning. At least one parent or guardian is to attend with the student but all family members are welcome. We ask each family to choose which session will best suit their schedule. GIFT sessions will be Wednesday eve, Sat. eve, and Sunday morning in FX Centennial Hall. Please refer to schedule  below for exact dates.   If you have any questions please contact our DRE Mrs. Tracey Ingold @(814) 330- 9235, or email  ingoldsong@comcast.net.     God Bless You!
